What do you play on stream?
I play exclusively original, improvised solo piano music. Sometimes this involves experimenting with an idea that I've had before; sometimes it involves creating something entirely new. Most of the time I don't have any idea what I am about to play until the last few seconds before I begin a song. If you stick around for a full stream, you'll likely hear a couple improvisations based on themes from one of my two albums.
What are you thinking about while you improvise?
It is different every time. Sometimes I am consciously focused on the specific notes and harmonies I am using; other times, I'm thinking about deeper concepts or abstract ideas. Sometimes I am watching the birds out of my window, or thinking about what to eat for dinner. Other times, I'm imagining a storyline or a scene from someone's life. Sometimes I am battling with my ego about my insecurities or performance anxiety. Other times, I am not thinking at all - I am simply absorbed in following a voice, an idea that is calling from somewhere between my inutition, my subconscious, and the beyond. This is always when I create my best work.
Is there any community interaction?
Community discussion is a central part of the channel. Each stream features a different "question of the day", designed to invite members in chat to share their thoughts. I pause between most songs to welcome in newcomers, catch up on the discussion, and answer questions. Our conversations often revolve around topics such as music theory, creativity, improvisation, or life here in Mexico.
Do I have to pay to watch or participate?
There is no fee to watch or join the community in chat. My desire is to make my music freely accessible to all without obligation. However, I rely heavily on the support of those who find value in my music to continue with my work.
